An Improved Method for Urban Built-Up Area Extraction Supported by Multi-Source Data

Urban built-up areas, where urbanization process takes place, represent well-developed areas in a city. The accurate and timely extraction of urban has fundamental role the comprehension management dynamics. are not only reflection expansion but also main space carrier social activities. Recent research attempted to integrate factor improve accuracy. However, existing methods based on nighttime light data focus integration single factor, such as points interest or road networks, which leads weak constraint low To address this issue, new index-based methodology for area that fuses with multisource big is proposed paper. index, while being conceptually simple computationally inexpensive, can extract efficiently. First, methodology, integrates points-of-interest, enhanced vegetation was constructed. Then, index reference area, performed dynamic threshold dichotomy method. Finally, method validated actual experimental results indicate high accuracy (recall, precision F1 score) applicability boundary extraction. Moreover, paper discussed different methods, provides an insight into appropriate approaches selection further cities conditions.
